BREATH(E): TOWARDS CLIMATE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice
- –
Part of the group exhibition “Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice,” running until January 5, 2025 at Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
Conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic and America’s 2020 racial reckoning, the show explores pressing ethical issues of climate justice, proposing both pragmatic and philosophical approaches to spark discussion and solutions. With over 100 thought-provoking works by contemporary artists, scientists, and activists, “Breath(e)” addresses deforestation, ocean acidification, water pollution, and more. As part of the “Urban Weaponry Project, Weapons of Mass Creation” by urban gardening advocate Ron Finley, Migz’s artwork features a shovel with a painted portrait of Ron himself. Details include the sun rising overhead to represent illumination, while accented by pollinator bees on either side.
