About this event

Welcome to the opening celebration of our third biennial, "Chop Shop: We Are Here." This exhibition is a collective exploration of racial consciousness and identity through drawing, painting, and sculpture. The Chop Shop Artists Collective, a group of Black and Brown male artists, was founded in 2020 during the global pandemic as a space for virtual conversations and fellowship. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder and its worldwide broadcast, these artists found strength in community, bonding over shared experiences.
Explore the vibrant works of multitalented artists alongside a panel discussion with curators Steven M. Cozart and Roymeico Carter.
Be sure to join us on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Gantt for a night of art, culture, and community. We look forward to seeing you there!
